Le Bon Choix, Ascot, Brisbane

December 14, 2012

Trying Le Bon Choix in Ascot, Hamilton area and is located in the corner of the street where I call the Hamilton-Food-street... the street is basically filled with various bakeries, cafes and restaurants... On the way to Portside Wharf in Hamilton, it would be lovely to drive through this street... Though I do find the parking quite a hassle, but hey, if it's for food, you'll have to find a way...

various cakes that they sell

Hot drinks ordered were Flat White (bottom photo) and the mocha (top photo)... For the mocha drink, you are able to see the layers of chocolate as well...

"Bamboleo"
Definitely a good choice to try if you do come here... A mixture of mixed fusion Mango mousse, passionfruit and banana jelly... The outside looks stunning with the glossy coated orangey coating... a little gold piece is also placed at the top...
The inside of "Bamboleo" is basically as you can see contains 3 layers.. the bottom which is i am actually not too sure what it is but it has a grainy texture as well and the mousse is in the middle with the orange glossed coating... In the middle, if you look closely, there is a little bit of the grainy jelly...
"Akina"
The 'Akina' can be said to be one of my favourite desserts for today... 12 layers of chocolate with a mint layer as well within it... Though the top is just a simple chocolate coated, the rest of the 12 layered chocolate makes up for it all... The mint toned layer do have this little grainy texture which is a good combination with all the various chocolate mousse layers...

"Lucie"
A very cute pink dessert definitely, however, I didn't think the taste and the dessert itself was as good as its presentation... Don't get me wrong, I did like it and did enjoy the 'Lucie', however, it was not my favourite cake for today...
Combination of a coconut dacquiose and light strawberry mousse
The light strawberry mousse was combined with a coconut dacquiose.. The design of the dessert is definitely very cute and unique... with layers of stawberry spongey texture for the bottom patterned with circles around it, then a coconut layer and then another strawberry jelly layer... Topped with half a strawberry, a bluberry and Le Bon Choix's logo and a French flag...
the side pattern on the spongey strawberry
what the "Lucie" looks like inside..
Definitely a recommended French patisserie place to have a coffee and cute desserts.. Though parking may be a hassle, so you'll have to find parking on the side of streets...
