Nonna's, Harbour Town, Gold Coast

March 30, 2013

A friend of mine said that Nonna's had one of the best seafood pizzas that she's ever tasted and so came here for lunch and tried it for myself.. Nonna's restaurants is three different types of cuisines (italian, seafood and steakhouse) which are basically joined in seatings and you can sit anywhere and can order from any of the different menus they have.. the biggest restaurant in the Harbour Town precint, Gold Coast..

For entrees, we bought their Garlic Prawns (entree size) which the prawns were cooked well with the garlic creamy sauce.. Fresh pan seared tiger prawns tossed in a garlic, white wine and cream sauce served on a bed of rice..
The rice was not dry and the sauce blended in with the rice nicely.. However, i thought that the dish was abit tad oily for my liking.. But overall, it was nice.. Fresh salad served on the side with no dressing..
All pizzas served here are 8 inches in size, are homemade and can be served either in pizza base or a calzone.. Gluten Free pizzas are also available..
Seafood pizza a tomato base topped with various different kind of seafood including fresh fish, calamari, mussels, prawns, baby octopus topped with mozarella cheese.. I can understand why she really liked the seafood pizza, their fish and their calamari etc, weren't selfishly portioned nor was it cut into little itty bitty pieces...
She was so excited when the waitress came with the pizza and dibbed on the big mussel on top of the pizza.. Overall was good, but I thought that the pizza base could have been abit better as it was quite hard to cut through and so just ended up eating with fingers which is actually the way i prefer eating pizzas anyway..
