The Three Monkeys, West End, Brisbane

September 05, 2015

Although coming here would be your coffee and cake usual spot, Three Monkeys also offer some hot food.. May it be a sandwich or focaccias or salad or even just a bowl of chips, it may not be a whole hearty food but something to nibble on sometimes is just better than sweet cakes. It is usually quite full on Fri or Sat night, but when you come on a weeknight or even Sunday night, it usually isn't too bad..

'Nachos' ($11.95) served with salsa, cheese and sour cream. You can add some guacamole and/or beans if you would like to. Although you may not be able to add meat in, this dish is Gluten Free. It may not have been the best Nachos but it wasn't bad. The amount of salsa, cheese and sour cream was quite generous too which was nice to see being able to see when they serve generous amounts for your corn chips to be able to dip into those salsa and sour cream. The only downside was the cheese only stuck to the upper corn chips not allowing the other corn chips especially the ones underneath get some of the cheese or the salsa.
Milkshakes ($6.25) with your option of Chocolate, Vanilla, Caramel or Strawberry.
All of their cakes on display are about $7.80/slice which I guess isn't too bad for a price compared to other places. The cakes we ordered (in order) were, Orange Jaffa Cake, Red Velvet Cake and
Generally, the cakes on offer at The Three Monkeys are all quite good, so whenever you do come by, remember to order a cake and coffee.. You won't regret ordering a slice of cake but let me remind you that the hard part is choosing which you would like since there are usually more than 10 choices of cakes in their glass display.
